It has been six years since Ricardo and I decided we had a better approach to the "cattle car tour bus" operations that existed in the area. We had done all the tours and had run various tour related business's.

Our plan............ new tour locations, safety at the forefront, throw away the watches and work on small, personalized tours catering to our clients wants & needs. Our better half's, have added a new dimension to the business with a wider variety of tours and consistent monitoring of the tours for quality and a quick response email system that requires a 24 -7 commitment. Our partners are our guides who are simply "the best". Knowledgeable, responsible and proud to introduce you too their country and culture.

For larger groups, family reunions or business functions we can provide small or large transportation with a bilingual guide and driver. After wedding events are becoming very popular...sunset sailing or large group private tours.

Voor onze Nederlandse en Belgische gasten. In een notedop ... De provincie “Guanecaste” ligt in het noord westen van Costa Rica, grenzend aan Nicaragua. Het is een van de gebieden dat nog niet is ontdekt door het massa toerisme! Grote reisorganisaties hebben zich nog niet gevestigd. Hier, in Guanacaste kun je nog pionieren en genieten van ongerepte natuur, verlaten stranden, authentieke dorpjes en kennismaken met de meest vriendelijke en hulpvaardige Costaricanen (Tico’s) die je kunt voorstellen.
Het nog maagdelijke Guanacaste is in ontwikkeling om te groeien tot een ‘druk toeristisch gebied’. Het is daarom zo geschikt voor alle type reizigers: families, studenten, honeymooners, groepen en individuele reiziger - jong en oud! Wereldberoemde acteurs, zangers en sportslieden komen hier tot rust en kunnen anoniem van hun vakantie genieten. Diverse beroemdheden hebben hier hun ‘ja-woord’ gegeven en steeds meer “stelletjes” besluiten hier te trouwen! Waarom hier?? Simpel omdat je hier jezelf kunt zijn en “er is voor elk wat wils”. Lekker luieren op het strand, feesten tot de vroege uurtjes, snorkelen, duiken, zeilen tot aan uitputtende activiteiten en tours.
Guanacaste biedt een enorme variatie accomodaties, geschikt voor elke beurs... Hotels, (prive) villas, bed & breakfasts, appartementen, eenpersoonskamers en “all-inclusive resorts “. Why Papagayo Vargas Tours?

We stayed at the Hilton Hotel Papagayo Resort Sept 12th - Sept 26th 2008. We chose Vargas Tours after reading the very positive comments on Trip Advisor and decided the tours we wanted to do after visiting the website and contacting them to gain further information. Josta arranged it so that our trips were spaced out for us to enable us to enjoy our hotel and get married. Unfortunately we could only do 3 trips (our choice), we did the Miravalles, Arenal Tour and Palo Verde River Tour. All 3 trips were unique and Manny (excellent tour guide) and John (excellent and safe driver) are very knowledgeable about wildlife, plants in fact everything!!! They often stopped at the side of the road to show us some wildlife etc, their eyesight's amazed us. After spending 3 days with them we feel we have known both of them forever they even stopped at shops for us to purchase items we needed (not part of the arranged trip).

The attraction was many things but it was the fact that the groups are no bigger than 4 people, in fact two of the trips there was only the two of us. The company is very professional and even changed one of the trips to accommodate our needs at the last minute. We received regular communication from the company both in the UK and whilst in Costa Rica. This is the first time that we have gone on tours and there is not set limit of time i.e visiting a shop wasn't you have 20 min it was more take as long as you need, in fact the hot springs we had 2.5 hours which was amazing. We would have no hesitation to recommend Vargas Tours to anybody who visits Costa Rica and when we return to celebrate one of our wedding anniversaries we would certainly use them again to do other trips particularly the ones that we didn't do. We do feel we have made friends for life.
